Ever since the forming of the bend in 1999, its members were dedicated to making their own mark by means of developing their own style through building their own authentic sound and expressing their personal and artistic views.

Successfully managing to escape the perils of superficiality, ephemerality, and pretentiousness, Rare's music has grown into a powerful fusion of many different genres, such as jazz, funk, core, rock, ethno, groove, drum n' bass, grunge, and trip hop. The band's main interests include a wide range of different topics - people's histories, life stories, adventures, dilemmas, confessions, and doubts.

RARE are: Branislav Radojkovic - bass (1977), Mirko Lukovic - vocals (1981), Nemanja Subotic - guitar (1981), Goran Milosevic - drums (1975), Branislav Stankovic - keyboard (1984), and Predrag Milanovic - production supervisor (1964).
