NEGATIVE

The band was formed in one of the, so to say, darkest political and historical moments for the nation - during the NATO bombing in 1999. Negative surprised both the critics and the public with its endless reserve of wild positivism and boundless energy that stood in contrast with the band's name and current local/global situation. Their music featured an original mixture of delicate vocals of the renowned pop singer Ivana Pavlovic and raw, fresh energy of the modern hard & heavy guitar music. It was 'both rough and gentle at the same time,' as the band members often like to point out.

This formula proved to be very successful: their first album, entitled Negative (Automatik records, 1999) provided them the craved for media attention, securing them a firm position on the local music scene and helping them gain a somewhat large fanbase which followed the band activity on a regular basis ever since then.

Their presence on the Serbian scene happened to be very refreshing, partly due to the fact that their ability to produce an energetic, emotional and, above all, attractive live performance proved to be one of their strongest attributes.

The band's short but rich career includes winning many festival awards and over 400 live performances throughout ex Yugoslavia. The band released three studio albums, and their biggest hit Zbunjena (Confused) was performed for the first time at the Beovizija festival in 2004. Their last album Tango (City records) was released in 2004, after which they announced a short, one-year break which their singer Ivana used to become a mother. 2007 will be the year of Negative's new studio album and a big concert tour.
