With support from their close friends from Riblja Corba, in 1996 Zdravkovic and Lalovic decide to form their own band in order to demonstrate their musical prowess and 'show the kids what the true rock n' roll sounds like.' The new-formed band is called Kraljevski apartman and goes on a tour with Riblja Corba. This makes band members realize many people still enjoy the strong guitar sound which, along with the band's unscrupulous rock n' roll statement, helps Kraljevski apartman receive cult status. However, the band's leader and main composer Zoran Zdravkovic understands the band's true potential, which he feels is not realized at that time. As their record company has no intention of adequately helping the band's promotion, Zdravkovic decides to switch publishers.
| The year 2000 is marked by the release of the band's second album Izgubljen u vremenu (Lost in Time, Rock Express Records), which is one of the best selling musical releases at the time, while the overall number of sold records is still considered impressive by local standards. |

The album is popularized thanks to three video clips frequently shown on many TV stations, excluding TV Pink.
The band's dynamic concert activity and strong media support had a definite influence on its increased popularity and helped position the band as the leader of the new wave of Yugoslav hard 'n' heavy music scene. Numerous international contacts made possible the distribution of the album in about twenty different countries, including Japan, Russia, and Mexico. The album received favourable reviews from many European magazines and fanzines, while the band's interviews appeared in several prestigious Czech, Slovakian, and Polish magazines.
